Departmental Tutoring
ACCOUNTING

In addition to a free and complementary discussion lab which students can choose to participate in, there is usually free weekly tutoring available for Accounting 200. The tutors are graduate students and these weekly sessions are available on a walk-in basis. Instructors will provide information about availability each semester.
ARCHITECTURE

ASTRONOMY

Tutoring is available for students taking Astronomy in Steward Observatory, room 208. Call 621-2288 for information on courses, days, and times since these can vary from semester to semester.
CHEMISTRY

Free tutoring is available for General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Tutors are graduate teaching assistants. A list of private tutors and the tutoring schedules are in Koffler, room 201. Call the department for more information.
CIVIL ENGINEERING (621-2266)

EAST ASIAN STUDIES (621-7505)
Contact department for information on possible tutors and on language tables for Japanese and Chinese. The language tables meet at least once a week and allow a group of students to practice the language which they are studying with each other.

Tutoring for select Engineering courses is available in the Engineering Academic Center located in the Old Engineering Building , room 200. Students must register for tutoring within the first month of the semester to receive assistance. Tutoring is provided by members of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor
Society.

Peer tutoring is available for introductory courses in the Learning Center located in the Gould Simpson Building , room 205. The tutoring schedules are posted on the door of this room. Tutors are graduate students or TAs. No appointment is necessary.

Group tutorials are available in all substantive first year courses. Individual tutoring is available where necessary. Tutors are second and third year law students. Tutoring is available only to students in the James R. Rogers College of Law.

Free tutoring is available for some lower-level mathematics courses through the department. Call the Mathematics Department office or contact Brooke at brooke@math.arizona.edu for information on tutoring days, times, and locations. Tutors are instructors for the particular course who hold their office hours in the tutoring room. There is no tutoring during the summer.

Students are encouraged to speak with professors and graduate teaching assistants about tutoring options. Tutoring is available for students enrolled in Human Anatomy and Physiology 201 and 202. The tutor lab is located in the Ina Gittings Building , room 3D. The tutors are faculty and graduate students. Students interested in tutoring for higher level courses should check with faculty.

The Writing Center is a free peer consulting service, not a remedial writing
program, for both undergraduate and graduate students. The Writing Center
is located in Bear Down Gym #102. Please call to make an appointment and
check for information and times.
WRITING
SKILLS IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (contact Dr. Donna Rabuck at 621-5849)
Free professional tutoring is available for minority and economically
disadvantaged students seeking assistance in English classes and all courses
requiring writing assignments. Students can also be referred by a teacher
for tutorial assistance. The program is located at 1201 E. Helen St. (1
block north of Speedway at the corner of Helen and Santa Rita). Tutors
are professional writers and teachers with graduate degrees in English.
